What is Global 6K?

The Global 6K for Water is more than a run, walk, or hike - it's a worldwide movement of everyday people coming together for one life-changing purpose: to bring clean water to children and families who need it most.

The movement began in the United States in 2015 and has since spread across the globe. Rooted in the global commitment of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6, the Global 6K is part of a promise to make clean water a reality for all by 2030.

This year in Asia, the movement kicked off in Malaysia in May, and will continue through South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong - each country walking in step toward a future where clean water is no longer a privilege, but a basic right.

Why 6 kilometres?

6 KM - that's the average distance women and children walk each day in vulnerable communities just to collect water. But it's more than just a number. It is hours lost from school. It is childhoods spent carrying heavy loads. It is energy spent on survival, not dreams
